What we do here

Audio-visual for the real classroom.

Schools ask more of their AV than most buildings. The same panel that shows a maths lesson on Tuesday morning has to run a drama warm-up on Friday afternoon. The PA that covers assembly needs to be intelligible to a child who's just arrived and doesn't know the building. The stage lighting that serves the school play needs to be operable by a non-specialist on the night.

We understand the difference between kit that looks good in a spec document and kit that works in a school — and we've been doing this long enough to know which is which. We don't oversell and we don't underspecify. We match the equipment to the building, the age group and the budget envelope.

Service & maintenance

Still working. Term after term.

School environments are hard on equipment. We offer service contracts that keep panels, PA systems and stage lighting in working order across the academic year — with call-outs that fit around the timetable. Most issues are resolved without a visit. When we do come out, we don't charge for time spent on the phone beforehand.

Common questions

Education sector — frequently asked questions

What AV do you install in primary and secondary schools?

We supply and install interactive flat panels for classrooms, hall PA and assembly systems, drama and performance lighting, wireless microphone systems, projection and large-format displays, stage rigging and dimmers, and digital signage. We've been working with schools in Lancashire and the North West since 1979, and we understand the difference between kit that looks good in a brochure and kit that survives a school day.

Can you supply and install interactive panels for classrooms?

Yes. Interactive flat panels are one of our most common education installations. We supply, install and configure panels from leading manufacturers, and we train staff on the day of installation — properly, not just a five-minute handover. We'll also advise on the right screen size for the room dimensions, the correct mounting height for the age group, and the connectivity options that suit your school's network.

Do you install stage lighting for school productions?

Yes. We install drama and performance lighting systems designed to be operated by non-specialists — because in most schools, the person running the school play is a drama teacher or a sixth-former, not a technician. We specify the right number of dimmers and fixtures for the space, train the staff, and leave a simple control layout that works on the night. We also install stage rigging and infrastructure where required.

Do you work with SEN schools and specialist settings?

Yes. SEN settings are a significant part of our education work. We install induction hearing loops for hearing-impaired pupils, sensory-room environments for pupils with complex needs, and AV systems specified for the specific requirements of specialist schools. We're also experienced in the sensory side — we can combine AV installation with a full sensory-room fit-out through our sensory sector work.

Do you offer service and maintenance contracts for schools?

Yes. School equipment works hard, and regular maintenance keeps it working through the academic year. We offer planned maintenance contracts covering interactive panels, PA systems, stage lighting and any other equipment we've installed. Call-outs are scheduled to avoid disrupting lessons, and most problems are diagnosed and resolved over the phone before we need to visit. We don't charge for phone support on contract installations.
